"Extremism in the defense of Liberty, is no vice!                                                               Moderation in the pursuit of justice, is no virtue!" - Sen. Barry Goldwater 1964

Sonny Thomas at Dayton Tea Party April 15th, 2009 at Courthouse Square in downtown Dayton, Ohio

We are currently creating content for this section. In order to be able to keep up with our high standards of service, we need a little more time. Please stop by again or visit Sonny's personal site at  www.SonnyThomas.com or  www.MySpace.com/SonnyThomas. Till then, here's few of his issues on the platform that he stands on.

In brief: Sonny Thomas, a patriot in more ways than one. He is a champion of the U.S. Constitution and an avid federalist when it comes to State's Rights. A self described "Independent Conservative and Jeffersonian Republican" and a "Hard-core Right Winger", he doesn't belong to any particular party. His main inspirations in political philosophy stem from classical thinkers such as Plato, Sun Tzu and whom he feels is the "Republic's Republican", the inimitable Marcus Tullius Cicero; The greatest statesman and conservative of the Roman Republic.

He also draws inspiration from both Cato the Elder as well as Cato the Younger; John Locke, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John C. Calhoun, Robert E. Lee, William T. Sherman (a distant paternal relative), Robert A. Taft, Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan, Ron Paul and most recently Sarah Palin.

Thomas is a firm believer in a classical education, he constantly questions the curriculum that permeates in most classrooms from the pre-school, elementary, high school and up to the college level. "People have no knowledge of classical western history and thought anymore. They don't even know their state capitols these days, much less their presidents!" He's also a huge supporter of homeschooling and father's rights to participate in and have an equal say in decisions for their children.

He believes that Civics should be taught first, long before social studies. "Shouldn't I know what it means to be a citizen before I know the differences between them?" A strong supporter of learning Latin in the school level as a requirement for graduation from High School. "Everyone should have at least 1 or 2 classes in basic Latin to understand legal and medical terms in their future. Would save a lot of confusion!"

A strong supporter of English being the national language of the United States. As well as only being available on all Federal and State documents. If you can't read and understand it, you don't belong here. It's no different if you were in Japan, Germany or Italy. If you don't know the language, you will not last very long.

Strong advocate for securing our Borders from illegal aliens as well as potential terrorists. As well as supporting those Minute Men whom help the Border Patrol do their jobs.

A strong believer in the power of music and often the messages and emotions they can convey, whether through lyrics or sheer composition, a background in classical as well as classic pop/rock/metal music is a must. "It's engrained in our history from the old country tunes that were imported with the immigrants and mixed with what the slaves gave us we take for granted today; Blues, Rock And Roll, Country, Bluegrass, Americana, and the 2 American original styles of music: Jazz and Ragtime."

"My mother's record player was one of the best mediums I've ever come across with. What she simply considered pop music at the time back in the 70's set the foundations of my love for music ever since! And my uncle's hard rock collection in the same house really gave me my balance of music today!" He continues, "From my beginnings of listening to the hits of her collection I was exposed to on a regular basis of Motown, Donna Summer, Earth Wind & Fire, Bee Gees, Fleetwood Mac and Spyro Gyra to my uncle's cranking up his stereo with the likes of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, early KISS and fond memories of the Star Wars soundtrack album, I had it made!"

Later being influenced by 80's rock and pop metal and their generation's exposure to MTV and Miami Vice really had an impact on how music was advertised and not just played. To this day, he lists a small portion here of his favorite artists in what he considers his 'Top 10'. KISS, Thin Lizzy, Poison, Stabbing Westward, The Beatles, STYX, Bryan Adams, Earth Wind & Fire, Donna Summer and The Doors.

He's not alone, many prominent lawmakers on all sides of the political spectrum and celebrities have come out against Obama on this issue. Such as Tennessee state Senate speaker and gubernatorial candidate Ron Ramsey, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee chief Robert Menendez, Hawaii state Sen. Will Espero, Oklahoma state Rep. Mike Ritze, Arizona state Sen. Sylvia Allen & Rep. Judy Burges, U.S. Rep. Nathan Deal, R-Ga., Sarah Palin, Former House majority leader Tom DeLay, U.S. Rep. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., U.S. Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., Feminist icon Camille Paglia, New Hampshire State Rep. Laurence Rappaport and U.S. Rep Jean Schmidt, R-Oh.

A prominent array of commentators and Hollywood celebrities including Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Alex Jones, Mark Levin, Lou Dobbs, Peter Boyles, New York radio talker Lynn Samuels, Martial Arts star and Actor Chuck Norris, Actor John Voight, country singer Toby Keith and singer Pat Boone have all said unequivocally and publicly that the Obama eligibility issue is legitimate and worthy.

In March 2009, Rep. Bill Posey, R-Fla., proposed H.R. 1503, known as the Presidential Eligibility Act. It is still pending in a House committee and has nearly a dozen co-sponsors, including Reps. Dan Burton, R-Ind.; Ted Poe, R-Texas; Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn.; John Campbell, R-Calif.; John R. Carter, R-Texas; John Culberson, R-Texas; Bob Goodlatte, R-Va.; and Randy Neugebauer, R-Texas; Trent Franks, R-Ariz.; Louie Gohmert, R-Texas; and Kenny Marchant, R-Texas.

Adding fuel to the fire is Obama's persistent refusal to release documents that could provide answers and the appointment – and payments to one of his eligibility lawyers at a cost confirmed to be at least $1.7 million – of numerous lawyers to defend against all requests for his documentation. That's in addition to the work done by U.S. attorneys defending Obama's eligibility, as in this case.

While Obama's supporters cite an online version of a "Certification of Live Birth" from Hawaii as his birth verification, critics point out such documents actually were issued for children not born in the state. The ultimate question unaddressed to date: Is Obama a natural-born citizen, and, if so, why hasn't documentation been provided? And, of course, if he is not, what does it mean to the 2008 election or the U.S. Constitution if it is revealed that there has been a violation?

A strong supporter of ending the Federal Reserve and returning to a gold standard. "When people really find out about the cabal that originated the FED, why they did it and how the results of it's actions lead to boom and bust periods so they can consolidate wealth and steal it from the middle class, there will be a revolution in this country that will make the firing on Fort Sumter look like a backyard fireworks display that a child would play with on the 4th of July!"

Again, an ardent supporter of State's Rights agrees that the South had the right to secceed from the Union. For if it weren't an option, the Southern states would have never ratified the Constitution in 1789 to begin with. The very same reasons why they broke off in 1861 were the ones that almost collapsed the Continental Congress before the Constitution was to even come to a vote. Under the Articles of Confederation, there were too many issues left to be addressed. However, that being said, under the current wave of resolutions in nearly half of the States currently either in favor of, supporting or declared to the federal gov't under the 10th Admendment, the usurpation of State's Right with federal mandates and this damn healthcare debacle will lead us in a very interesting situation. Many States are already drafting or ratifing laws to nullify the ObamaCare should it rear it's ugly head into law. If the worst case senerio of Seccession comes, such as Texas with it's right to secceed written into it's own State constitution, he is in support of it should it come to pass.

More to come...

He was on a book tour for his 'An Inconvient Book' and realized shortly there after the error of his ways. After looking more into Dr. Paul's platform, he switched gears and became a supporter of sorts.
