**NEWS UPDATE** - 4.8.10 - SpringboroTeaParty.com - THE RALLY!! UPDATE - The Rally in April will be at the Amphitheater on Saturday April 17th from 10am to 5pm!

Check back often as the list is growing and changing!! Link

      Statement over recent comment:

I firmly believe that this country benefits best by those who wish to come here, assimilate into our culture, who want to be part of the American experience and contribute to it’s continued success. As any of my fellow patriots know that I am avidly against illegal immigration of any kind and the frustration of giving amnesty to those who break the law to get here. As I am a lifetime music lover of all genres, I always have some sort of song that can fit almost any occasion or situation. Coincidently the song “Spicks and Specks” by the Bee Gees had been on my player. I made the reference to the song not stopping to think of the era that it was produced and taken out of context could be offensive to some people.

I take full responsibility for the action and it was not my intention to be insensitive. While it is never appropriate to make such a facetious comment, I hope that we can put this issue behind us for the greater good. It was totally my foible and no one else. And in no way shape or form should anyone whom I asked to speak at the Rally would condone my indiscretion nor should they be targeted for it. They are there to provide information to the people based on their life experiences or expertise; or why We The People should cast our ballot for them. Nothing more. Nothing less. And lastly this should not effect the tea party movement as a whole and what we’re trying to accomplish. We are very passionate about the primary issues of Limited Gov’t, Free Markets and Fiscal Responsibilities! - Sonny Thomas

**NEWS UPDATE** -2.7.10 - SpringboroTeaParty.com - NEXT MEETING UPDATED - Our next monthly meeting before the Rally in the Springtime will be at the 'Boro Bistro on Saturday Feb. 13th at 3pm. Located at 155 South Main St. in Historical Springboro is a perfect place to come together and enjoy a great meal while supporting small business all at once. Visit the 'Boro Bistro at www.BoroBistro.com . or call them at 937.748.8900.

Set to speak are Sonny Thomas, State Senator Shannon Jones, Union Township Trustee Chris Koch, Kate Burch from FairTax.org and Jim Rigano (on his proposal to keep the Springboro Comm. Schools fiscally viable) .

                                    Help repeal Ohio's Death Tax

This grassroots cause, joined by an ever growing number, was started by a small business owner who wanted a better future for Ohio. Citizens United to End Ohio's Estate Tax is the ballot issue political action committee formed to run the campaign.   Ohio's estate tax is levied at rates of 5%-7% on taxable estates over a mere $338,333. It generates less than 1% of total state and local revenues.

The petition now in circulation will give the General Assembly a last chance to end the estate tax. If the General Assembly fails to act, a second petition will be circulated to put the issue on the ballot for the people to decide.

Sign up to help fight the Ohio tax at http://www.EndOhioEstateTax.com.

We are not at giving endorsements easily but we do endorse Adam Kokesh running for Congress of the 3rd district in New Mexico. His site is www.KokeshForCongress.com.

Why support a congressional candidate from across the country? For one we feel he has something to give to the American people. Sonny Thomas has personally heard him speak at least twice at public gatherings. During the July 2008 "Ron Paul Revolution March" in Washington, D.C. as well as Ron Paul's "Rally For The Rublic" in Sept of 2008 in St. Paul, Minn. There's a video on Sonny's MySpace page from the Julyy march posted.

"I was at "RonStock '08" as well after the Rally. By the time we got back I was so exhausted that I went to my tent and crashed out immediately. However, I was informed the next morning by a fellow supporter from Cincinnati that Mr. Kokesh had stopped by. She didn't want to wake me because I was crashed out, but I was hoping to meet him in person." - Sonny Thomas

We are hoping to have Mr. Kokesh do a brief interview soon and will post it as soon as it is realized.

We have also set up a new "Endorsements" page for the select few people running for or re-running for office that we feel best represent our core values as Conservatives and support the Constitution.

We've also decided to share wisdom of great quotes in history to really help see the light on a myriad of issues that sometimes seem to come up quite often but are not always seen as they should be.

"To stand in silence when they should be protesting makes cowards out of men."
- Abraham Lincoln

**NEWS UPDATE** -1.16.10 - SpringboroTeaParty.com - EndorsementScott Brown to the U.S. Senate in Mass. Elect Scott Brown to the United States Senate | Official Scott Brown for United States Senate Site  We support Brown's run for the Senate. His pledge to stop ObamaCare has promted our endorsement! We've also donated 10 dollars towards his campaign out of our own pockets and not any donations. Please send him at least $5 if you can! Our  future depends on it!!

New stickers are available! We'll have them up for viewing in a day or so!

We also had a good first meeting at the Boro Bistro. We are planning another one there in  Feb either on the 13th or 20th depending on your feedback. Poll is up to decide. Deadline is   this Sunday, Jan. 24th to solidify it.

Among those featured we also had Eric Deaton for Ohio's U.S. Senate seat. Eric is an independant and a Constitutionalist. We will try to have him back in Feb at the next meeting. We also will have him at the next Rally in April.

Also in attendance was Ohio Rep. Peter Beck and his wife, Linda Oda and an aid to State Senator Shannon Jones. We are hoping to either have Sen. Jones at a future meeting or at the Rally if all goes well.

We still need those donations coming for the Rally. The tentative theme for the Rally is "Bringin' Back Conservatism! - Doin' It Again In 2010!" We've collected $54 so far but a far cry from an amount to work with on the Rally. Please donate at least $5 if you can! Thank you!

AND ***WE HAVE CONFIRMED THAT APRIL 17TH AT NORTH PARK WILL BE THE NEXT RALLY!***

**NEWS UPDATE** 12.23.09 - SpringboroTeaParty.com - Christmas Event for all denominations or non at all! -  Crossroads.net - Whatever your thoughts on church, whatever your beliefs about God, you are welcome here. Awaited: A Christmas Show

Awaited is a contemporary retelling of the traditional nativity story through music, videos and dance. It is the true story of humanity in need and a love that conquers and saves. Come early for a nostalgic Main Street holiday experience for the whole family that precedes each show.

Sonny Thomas rated it as, "Wow!, Riveting, Inspirational, well choreographed and the acoustics within the building made the powerful soundtrack come even more alive! 9.5 out of 10!"  and "I'm spiritual but not religious, but this place really makes you feel welcome. Not preachy at all, just a common belief that if you follow Judeo-Christian values in any sense, there's a place for you here." And lastly, "People of all ages will enjoy the production and the message, if that's your thing or not, but you will be entertained!"

**NEWS UPDATE** 12.20.09 - SpringboroTeaParty.com - Great news! Now you can also use www.SpringboroTeaParty to come here too. This saves any confusion as well as prevents any anti STP groups from parodying our site and causing any issues.
We've also added a Special Features page to share interviews and other media with elected officials as we progress.

Our first monthly meeting before the Rally in the Springtime will be at the 'Boro Bistro on Saturday Jan. 16th at 5pm. Located at 155 South Main St. in Historical Springboro is a perfect place to come together and enjoy a great meal while supporting small business all at once. Visit the 'Boro Bistro at www. or call them at 937.748.8900.

We will be featuring 2 speakers each meeting and hopefully share a video in the mix as well. The speakers are being looked into for availability and subject matter that needs to be covered as far as importance with what's going on in 'Boro and D.C.

We also want to recommend you watching this DVD ASAP! SpringboroTeaParty.com Suggested Media - DVD - CAMP FEMA - STP.com 2009 DVD OF THE YEAR!

Evidence of Internment Camps in America. Recent legislation attempting to legitimize the use of internment camps to detain U.S. citizens in the event of an uprising or civil unrest has many people asking what nation they live in. In a country born out of political dissent, we watch our leaders in Washington slowly pass bills that label ordinary Americans as thought criminals and potential domestic terrorists for simply questioning the actions of their government.

We see third party candidates and their impassioned supporters listed in secret government reports that call their allegiance into question and brand them as fanatics and extremists. Senate committee hearings and official FBI documents further illustrate the mindset of our elected officials as they classify homeschoolers, gun rights activists and anti-abortionists as threats against the existing social and political order; by default creating an entire nation of radicals and revolutionaries - where everyone is a suspect... equally guilty until proven otherwise. How has our government shown that they will deal with these people? The same way as every other totalitarian regime throughout history - marginalize their activities then lock them up.

Prisons are being built; internment camps constructed and laws passed that deal severely with anyone who dares to step out of line or ask too many questions. Who are the potential domestic terrorists that will end up in these camps? Read the documentation for yourself and hear what our experts have to say. States rights take a front row seat in this new political thriller that is guaranteed to send shivers up your spine. Find out where the true power of the people rests in halting these treasonous activities NOW!

**NEWS UPDATE** 12.13.09 - SpringboroTeaParty.com - Endorsement - We have decided to endorse our first 'candidate' that exercises our views when it comes to education. STP.com has now officially endorsed Dr. Kelly Kohls who recently won a landslide victory for the Springboro school board. She received no support from the Springboro Education Association nor the school board itself. She's completely an independent and calls things as she sees them.

We will be having an online interview with her and she has agreed to speak at the Rally in the spring regarding education issuesas a parent concerned on education issues. We hope to support her swearing in with a large crowd at Springboro H.S. on Jan 12th at 7pm in 2010. For more information on Kelly and her platform visit her website at www..

**NEWS UPDATE** 12.10.09 - SpringboroTeaParty.com -  "We're Reloading!" - Sonny Thomas - Hello Everyone! We wanted to chime in real quick to update you on a few things and comment on a couple of issues.
Recently, I attended the event in Cincinnati to hear Newt Gingrich speak on a number of issues pertaining to jobs by working Americans at his jobs summit. A lot of great ideas were tossed around that were common sense, everyday ideas that you and I could come up with. Now if we can get the politicians to listen to us, we would be out of this recession already!

Call our Ohio Senators Brown and Voinovich and tell them , "NO" to not only this bogus healthcare bill but to their usurpation of intervening with private healthcare of ANY SORT! Who do they think they are to dictate to women when they can or can't have themselves examined for any type of cancer. Even going so far as to tell you that 'Thou shalt not even perform a self exam in the shower! ' Last time I checked, your body is your own private property and wasn't that the whole premise of Roe vs. Wade in '73?!

I'll be Goddamned if the Gov't tells me that I cannot perform a testicle self exam and then follow up with my doctor if I have questions! This is too far!

For best results, both numbers are here, but the Ohio numbers will get answered by a human and not put on hold for hours on end.

Brown - D.C. -202.224.2315OH - 888.896.6446 option #3 for Cincy, after you press 1 for English?!

Voinovich - D.C. - 202.224.3353OH 614.469.6697 Be sure even if they don't ask for it, tell them your zip code to help them with demographics.

We are still having issues with finding a regular meeting place in public. If anyone has any suggestions on where to meet in the Springboro area, please contact us.  We are still in need of donations to keep us running strong! AS well as building funds for the Rally in the spring. We are reloading for the new year ahead, with some great speaker series in our meetings and videos to acquire or check out from the Franklin/Springboro Library.

So far the poll on our site is leaning towards the April 17th date for our next Rally. We will keep it open till after New Year's and then schedule the date with the city shortly after. We still have many items available for sale on our new merch page. We've also set up our 'Suggested Media'  page to help bring awareness to the people on a variety of issues. Either on DVD or in book formats.

We hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday this year and that Santa will be good to you! Merry Christmas from Us at STP.com!

**NEWS UPDATE!!** -Boro Xmas and Meeting - 11.16.09- We regret to inform you that we will not be participating in the Springboro Christmas Fest. The committee at large, though some are in support of what we do, felt that politics and 'religious holidays' don't make good bed fellows. We understand their decision, however, we do support the 1st Amendment right to freedom of religion as well a keeping Christmas a viable holiday. Though many on the left would love to destroy the season, we do observe it in some form or fashion.

We were also told that we cannot have our monthly Tea Party meetings at the Springboro Library due to policy. Which might be reviewed but not till next year. However, we are still keeping the same date of Dec. 8th from 6-9pm open. We are looking into other venues and are awaiting the results and will update you then. We are trying our best to keep everything in 'Boro. If anyone has any suggestions on venues for use to use, please call or email us! As soon as we finalize the location, we'll finalize our guest speaker line up as well as try to squeeze in some video material. With Thanksgiving a week and a half to go, we hope everyone and their families have a wonderful time and a safe trip if travel is involved. Thank you and we'll post you ASAP regarding location.

**NEWS UPDATE!!** -Next Rally - 11.14.09 - We are in the planning stages of another Rally in the Spring at North Park. Though we are a bit drawn on when to do it exactly. March is still a little too soon due to weather. April will most likely have a boatload of them all over the area on the 15th, which is a Thursday next year as opposed to the following weekend. May is a little too far off into the new year. So we'll let you decide when is the best time to throw it! Since we believe in the people to lead, we'll leave it to you! Click on our new poll to choose. Here

**NEWS UPDATE!!** - Report on the Issues at the Ballot Box - 11.6.09 - We were very sad to see that all of the issues on the ballots had passed. We were on the fence seriously about Issue 2 due to it's power grab by the State as well as the Left pushing for a No vote. It's against our principles to grow gov't whenever possible and there a lot of potential for corruption in the future given whomever sits in the Gov's chair at that time. Issue 3 has been voted down every time successfully for the last 20 years. We can't believe people fell for the hype and the farce of using vice to make up fpr a fiscal shortfall. And the vet's on Issue 1 was a surprise. Why should state monies be used for this? If the Feds use the army, then fed money should be used to take care of them. And it's retro back to Gulf War 1?!?! WTF?! We support our vets 100%, but some issues should be addressed on who foots the bill.

We were very glad to see the Library levy pass here in 'Boro. Thank you to all who voted for it. We will be scheduling STP meetings w/ guest speakers every month till the Spring Rally. Dates TBA soon.

**NEWS UPDATE!!** - Report on the Issues at the Ballot Box & Halloween - 10.31.09 - Happy Halloween!! The kiddies will be out tonight! We hope everyone in 'Boro will have a great evening for all our goblins and ghouls. Remember to look out for many of them will have dark costumes on.

We are happy to report on a few items. We hope everyone heard the messages at the Rally from Tim from Dayton/Montgomery Co Library and Anita from Franklin/Springboro Library about their respective levy issues that will be on the ballot on Nov. 3rd. Issue 40 and Issue 24 respectively. We support those levies 100%. Since they are tax monies that have an immediate and obvious effect, we support them. As opposed to most school levies which are often squandered and you never really see the effects of them for some time if they are used properly.

We are in the process of finalizing a booth at the Springboro Christmas Festival this year for next month. Nov. 20, 21 & 22. We will still need to recieve as many donations as possible as we will have depleted our reserves to get in this festival.

We are working on setting some regular dates at the library for meetings with a 1 or 2 guest speakers depending on the issues at hand until the next Rally in the Spring. This is one of the reasons we support the library levy for everyone of all ages benefit from it! We'll post a date on here after next wed to confirm it.

Lastly, we've donated 2 copies of Thomas N. Tabback's book Things Forgotten to the Franklin/Springboro Library. They should be processed shortly for you to check out. Thank you to Anita Carroll from the F/S Library for their continued support of circulating our items! Thomas and his family are from Texas and drive all over the country to speak at Tea Parties and other Rallies to help spread his voice of freedom of choice regarding health care and is a great public speaker in his own right! We hope to have him again in the Spring at our next Rally!

**NEWS UPDATE!!** - Report on the Rally - 10.26.09 - Though it was a pretty windy day and off and on sprinkles, I think we did fairly well, considering the weather. However, I have spoken to many of you at the event and after about the logistics of it. We needed more staff to make it flow more smoothly. We've already been looking into that for the next one in the spring. In between we are already looking into more opportunities to stay visable and viable during the winter months. Providing the library levy passes (which we do support!), we will schedule regular meetings there. Esp. in January. We are also looking into various events in the area to participate in as well. So please keep those donations coming in as we have to build our reserves for the spring rally!!

The T-shirts are still available in S-XL sizes and the full color stickers are hot! Show your support by purchasing one or two today!! T-shirts are $10 and bumper stickers are $2. If you buy 2 Tees, we'll throw in 1 sticker free!!

**NEWS UPDATE!!** - Status on Donations, Stickers and T-Shirts - 10.17.09 - The donations have continued to come in. Though very slowly, they are still coming in. Thank you to those whom have given generously out of their pockets. Thus far, our total in donations has reached $605! Still, not bad given the economy and the amount of time we allowed ourselves to put this together.

The stickers are a little behind on schedule, but we will have them hopefully before the Rally! The Event Tee is coming along nicely! However, due to the limited amount of funding and time we will only have a small amount to go around. However, our supplier will have forms available for you to purchase your event tee and will be mailed to you within a week. So come early and come fast to get 'em, but you can still get yours if you miss out!

**NEWS UPDATE!!** - Radio Appearance! - 10.5.09 - Sonny Thomas will be on 55KRC at 8.40am on Wednesday to discuss the Rally at North Park. We are long time listeners of Brian Thomas' Morning show (no relation) and appreciate his support for the movement as a whole and us as a part of it. Thank you to Brian and Joe Strecker at WKRC for the opportunity to have us on! Listen to 550am or stream online at www.55KRC.com . Listen to it here at www.myspace.com/TheHMD

**NEWS UPDATE!!** - Status on Donations - 10.3.09 - I'm happy to report as of 12pm Sat Oct 3rd, we've collected $425! At this point, the cost of having the Springboro Police Officer for the event has now been covered!! However, we still have soooo far to go to reach our goal of $2500. Any donation helps us achieve that goal.

Please send any cash, checks or money orders payable to Sonny Thomas to: SpringboroTeaParty.com c/o Sonny Thomas  10 West Market Street Springboro, Ohio 45066.1214

A big thanks goes out to Greg McAfee of McAfee Heating & Air! He wasn't available to speak but made sure he chipped in to help us out. Thank you Greg!!

Also, 3 different versions of the STP.com bumper stickers should be ready by next weekend. The 1st version says 'TAKE BACK AMERICA!' w/ STP.com website on bottom and American flag in the background. 2nd version says ' I SUPPORT STATE'S RIGHTS!' w/ STP.com website on bottom and Ohio State flag in the background. The last version simply has our logo w/ our slogan, "Where 'Li'Boro-Tea' Is Brewing!" on bottom. We'll have more information when they are ready.

Campioni's in Springboro has allowed us to be the follow-up meeting place for after the Rally!! They are not leaning in any political direction in this regard, but they make a mean pizza and meatball sub!! Please visit this establishment and thank them for this great opportunity to hang out and chow down on some great food and beverages! Campioni's is located at 92 Edgebrooke Dr in Springboro right off S.R. 741 behind Penn Station. (937) 748-8811.
